Branch Office Bearers

The SNP Braes Branch is run by a dedicated team of volunteers committed to the cause of Scottish Independence. Below you will find our current office bearers and their roles within the branch.

Branch Officers

The volunteers who keep the Braes Branch running day to day.

Convenor

Gordon Hughes

Gordon has been a committed SNP member for many years and leads the Braes Branch with passion for Scottish Independence. As Convenor, he chairs branch meetings, represents the branch at regional level and oversees the day-to-day running of the branch.

Vice Convenor

Christine Grimley

Christine supports the Convenor in all branch activities and steps in to chair meetings when required. She also assists with the coordination of branch campaigns and community events across the Upper and Lower Braes.

Secretary & Organiser

Declan McGavin

Declan is responsible for all branch correspondence, maintaining records, taking minutes at meetings and organising branch activities. As Organiser he plays a key role in coordinating campaigning efforts across the Braes area.

Treasurer

Robin Bennie

Robin manages the branch finances, maintains accurate accounts, collects membership subscriptions and reports on the financial position at branch meetings, ensuring the branch remains in good standing.

Women's & Equality Officer

Christine Grimley

In her role as Women's & Equality Officer, Christine ensures the branch is welcoming and inclusive to all, promotes diversity and equality within the branch and advises on equalities matters in line with SNP policy.

Social Secretary

Linda Buckle

Linda organises the branch's social events and community gatherings, helping to build camaraderie among members and create welcoming spaces for new and prospective SNP supporters across the Braes area.

Elected Officials

The Braes Branch is represented by two SNP councillors on Falkirk Council, serving the communities of the Upper and Lower Braes wards.

Lower Braes

Councillor Gordon Forrest

Gordon Forrest represents the Lower Braes ward on Falkirk Council, working hard for local residents on issues ranging from housing and transport to community facilities and local services.

Upper Braes

Councillor Jim Robertson

Jim Robertson represents the Upper Braes ward on Falkirk Council, championing the interests of Upper Braes residents and working to improve public services and infrastructure across the ward.
